PHILOSOPHY

Passionate about mental health and wellness, Laura has upheld a professional role within social services since 2006. She promotes an eclectic style that incorporates a person-centered, strengths-based approach.

Trained in Level I and II EMDR Therapy, a mind/body form of therapy, this approach provides great relief and healing for those recovering from traumatic experiences. Laura is best suited with persons age 16 and up.

In addition to an appropriate blend of humor, clients describe Laura as warm, empathetic, and safe to approach with difficult subjects.

BIO

Licensed in Iowa and Minnesota, Laura is also certified in the state of Iowa as a Clinical Supervisor to provide oversight for therapists in training. She considers herself a lifelong learner as she enjoys continuing education and keeping up with the latest modalities of treatment.

In her spare time, Laura is an active Board member of Mental Health America of Dubuque County and participates in mental health advocacy events. She further enjoys spending time with friends and family, sporting events, and traveling.
